The Fees and Benefits of HBA Membership 2024-25
Fees
Membership of Badminton England and Hertfordshire Badminton Association should be automatic to those who belong to an affiliated club.
Badminton England introduced a new GoMembership system in 2017 (now called JustGo). Badminton clubs who wish to affiliate to Badminton England have to pay a club fee depending on how many club players they have in addition to affiliating each of their members individually.
The membership season is now 1 November to 31 October.
Compete members can join Badminton England directly and not through their club.
For 2024-25 the structure BE of affiliation fees is described below. The Herts County adult fee for 2024-25 is £3.50 but the fee for juniors remains nil. There is further information about BE membership at https://www.badmintonengland.co.uk/membership-2/

In addition there is an individual club player fee which should be paid by your club. For 2024-25 the individual club player affiliation fees are:

Club Players are now called Community Members and Junior Players Junior Community Members.
If you wish to play in Badminton England tournaments or play for the senior or masters county teams you need to obtain a compete licence directly from Badminton England.

New Clubs
If you would like your badminton club to affiliate to Badminton England and Hertfordshire Badminton Association, please e-mail Badminton England at membership@badmintonengland.co.uk with a copy to the Herts Membership Secretary, Colin Walker, at colin.walker4@ntlworld.com with the following information:
1. Name of club
2. Full address
3. County in which your club resides
4. Details of the club main contact (who will be responsible for your club renewals).
Once Badminton England have received the above details, your club will be added onto their GoMembership system and an individual login will be sent to you. You will then be required to access the system and add all your members.

• Free insurance cover (employers liability, combined liability & directors & officers insurance)
• Club profile on their Club search tool
• Discounts on shuttles and other equipment for your members with their official online retailer Direct Sports
• Badminton England programmes such as No Strings and Essentials to build your membership and provide coaching.

Herts Badminton Association membership benefits:
1. Support from HBA Committee members, and for Juniors: Hertfordshire Junior Badminton Association (hjba.org.uk)
2. Hertfordshire Badminton information directly to each member
