Report on the Hertfordshire Senior Silver (“Open”) 2024
This season’s Hertfordshire Restricted tournament took place on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 September 2024 at the Hertfordshire Sports Village, with over 60 players from across the county taking part. Both singles events were played on the Saturday and all the doubles events were played on the Sunday. The results were as follows,
Open Singles
Howard Stobo beat Luke Cox 21-11, 17-21, 21-12
Ladies Singles
Anna Chatoo beat Katie Savage 19-21, 21-13, 23-21
Open Doubles
Matthew Widdicombe & Harry Goode beat Chris Adey & Steven Elliott 24-22, 21-17
Ladies Doubles
Natalie Barton & Molly Goode beat Charlotte Willis & Frankie Edlemann 21-19, 21-18
Mixed Doubles
Harry Goode & Molly Goode beat Matthew Widdicombe & Natalie Barton 21-19, 21-16
Overall, it was another successful Herts Restricted tournament, played in good spirit with lots of excellent badminton. I would like to thank Simon Gouldstone and Graham Hall for all their help over the weekend which ensured the tournament ran as smoothly as possible.
We also took the opportunity to congratulate Natalie Barton for over 200 senior county appearances for Hertfordshire. Paul Widdicombe presented Natalie with a personalised crystal glass to mark this fantastic achievement.
