Herts Badminton Association, with the help of Herts Sports Partnership, obtained a £10,366 grant from Sport England in January 2024 towards its countywide programme to increase older adult engagement in badminton. The project was managed in partnership with Herts Sports Partnership’s, Charlotte Bird, Active Ageing project officer – Live Longer Better in Hertfordsire, and locally in Herts Local Authorities, by HBA’s 4 Communitgy Badminton Networks, East Herts CBN, Herts West Badminton Development Group, Stevenage and North Herts CBN, and Welwyn Hatfield CBN. It completed in March 2025 having engaged hundreds of participants aged 50+ many with health conditions, and many other project benefits.
