Frances Morrison is having a hip operation soon and needs some cover for her coaching & No Strings sessions while she recuperates:
1. No Strings: she needs some helpers to come along on a Sunday to Chesham Leisure Centre from 7.15-8.45pm on a Sunday to assist running the No Strings Badminton session on 2 courts. Ideally a club player who can organise the games. If they have a DBS on the update service it would be even better & could get paid 1.5 hrs if they get a DBS done by the Leisure Centre in time. Otherwise it would just be an opportunity to have games for free and bring some friends or 16 + players who pay £4 for the session & meet likeminded badminton players! The dates needed for cover would be:
November 25th and December 2nd
She already have cover for the following 2 sessions 9th & 16th December and then the centre shuts for Christmas. Whoever it is doing it could take other adult players (must be 16 +) players with them. The session costs £4 for the players participating which is charged at the desk. The leisure centre attendants set up the courts, but they all usually help to get started quickly. As the No Strings session is a potential step for players to then go onto a club when good enough, it could be an opportunity for whoever does it to scout for potential players for their club, especially if local, i.e. Kings Langley.
2. Friday Coaching sessions:
November 23rd & 30th, December 7th & 14th and possibly 4th Jan if Frances is not recovered fully.
Sessions run from 5.45pm until 6.30pm. If a coach can be found, the pay is for one hour at the Leisure Centre rate which is approximately £15 for the Fridays. There are 3 courts & up to 12 junior beginners & intermediate players ranging from about 7yrs – 12 yrs old.
She has asked us to pass on her details (firstname.lastname@example.org) to anyone that might know of an individual keen to get some experience. There may well be some additional work available later in the New Year when she hopes to set up another No Strings Badminton session.
Please contact Francis directly if you can help.
